Some birthdays and anniversaries deserve a proper table, good food and the people you love gathered around it.

Big Birthdays in the Dining Hall

Turning 40 or 50 is a good reason to gather everyone, and the Dining Hall is a fine place for a party with plenty of life in it. Our guests have danced, laughed and caught up with friends right inside the restaurant.

The Dining Hall has dark wooden tables, leather chairs and woven pendant lights, a warm backdrop for photos and speeches.

For a birthday, the space can be dressed to suit you. One setup we have hosted had a white arch, a gold sequin backdrop and balloon garlands, sitting beside the bar counter.

Family tables work well here too. A large group of all ages along one long wooden table, passing plates and smiling for the camera, is exactly the kind of birthday we love to see.

The kitchen brings the flavour. Tandoori meats cooked in the tandoor, slow-cooked curries, biryanis and freshly baked naan are made for sharing, so everyone eats from the middle of the table.

An Anniversary Dinner by Candlelight

For two people, or a few more, the Bridge Room is a lovely setting. Picture a long table set with plates, glasses and lit candles in a dimly lit room, and you have the mood.

The Bridge Room has large windows with sheer curtains, which soften the light as the evening settles in.

Years together are worth marking slowly. Take your time over dinner, let the candles do their work, and leave the details to us.

A Toast at the Bar

Every milestone has a toast. A toast is short, but people remember it: a few words, a clink of glasses, and the whole table is smiling.
